How to Perform NFC, QR Code and Barcode Scans
In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to perform NFC, QR code, and barcode scans using FacilityApps. The process differs slightly depending on whether you're using an Android or iOS device.
When to Use This
- When you need to scan NFC, QR code, or barcode stickers for various operations within the app.
- When assigning unknown Barcodes/NFC tags to Site, Floor, Space, Element, or User.
- When checking the details of the Element, User, or Site and starting the Time Registration on this Site/Floor/Space.
Steps
- Ensure you are logged into the app.
- If using an Android device, the app needs to be active on the phone for scanning. This is to prevent inadvertent scans from happening.
- Scan the NFC-sticker. (Android only)
- If using an iOS or Android device, go to Menu / Scan.
- Choose the appropriate onboarding option (NFC or QR) and press the Start Scan-button.
- Scan the NFC/QR-code/Barcode sticker.
- If it is an unknown sticker, you will be asked to assign it to either Site, Floor, Space, Element, or User (NFC only).
- If this is a known sticker, it will take you to the details of the Element or User, or the details of the Site and it will start the Time Registration on this Site/Floor/Space.
Tips
- Remember that barcodes also work if you select QR-code.
